I thought I wouldn’t be able to edit photos (since I’ve never used a photo editing program before). At first when I opened it up I was bombarded with a bunch of stuff I didn’t even know what it meant! So I closed out all of the pop-ups and went to study it a little bit. I saw a paintbrush and some other icons I didn’t know what they did. Eventually, I figured out this nice little tool called a “magic wand.” When you click on it, your mouse pointer turns into a wand, then you click on a drawing that you made with the paintbrush and it cuts out a little area of the picture, and you can click on tha selected area and you can move it around! I had never in my whole entire life seen something so cool like that before. For my first try I think I did pretty well considering I have never used a photo editing program.
I made the transition over to using WordPress and have to say so far I’m loving it. I’m still learning, but I have to give a big shout out to the WordPress community. So far, everyone I’ve come across has been super nice and gone out of their way to help a rookie out with the numerous questions they have.

With their help (and some of my friends locally that blog), I’ve been able to get a half way decent looking blog together I think in relatively short order. Still got work to do on it – but I really like how its all coming together.

Big thanks to my Buddies on my blogroll! They’ve helped me a ton in making the transition and have been very patient. One of them is helping to host a Wordcamp here in Louisville in December that I’m planning on attending – should be a really great place for me to meet up with people and pick up some pointers.

I am continuing to copy over my old material and adding some new stuff as I am able so you can read what your pal ole Lincoln has been up to – so be sure to check back every couple weeks and you should probably see some new material here for you to catch up on (If I don’t – be sure to remind me to keep you guys up to date, and I’ll get a post up about something thats going on with me.) Ciao for now!

Many people would think that with the last name of Ford, that I might be an heir of Henry Ford or something. Unfortunately, I am not though I wish I was! However, presently I do drive a Ford Escape every day to work; it is reliable and great transportation and I could not be more pleased after 194,000 miles! It is very practical for my lifestyle and needs.

I have always been a huge fan of power and speed when it comes to my cars I dream about. The way it feels when you push the accelerator pedal to the floor and the sensation of being pushed back in the seat at a force two times that of an jet airplane is exhilarating! It takes me back to my first car, a 1969 Camaro. My pop and I built it from the ground up. It was an awesome car. Everything was new on it. We built a 1970 Chevy LT-1 0.30 over to make it a 355 cubic inch. By the time we got done with it was pushing over 400 horsepower. It had black lacquer paint with black original interior. It was quit the envy of all my friends and the fastest car around and at my school. I used to race Ford Mustangs like it was my job. Every chance I got I hoped I could pull up to a stoplight and hoped the car next to me was wanting to race.

But as things go after years of ownership of this street rocket, I ended up selling it for $10,000 since I did not have any place to store it. Oddly enough, ended up using that money as a down payment on a new Ford F-150 since I needed it for my job. Good news is the fellow I sold my Camaro to said he’d sell it back to me if I wanted it back ever…it’s weighed on my mind for years and some day I plan on calling him on his offer.

Next post I’ll tell you about my Dream Car #2 stay tuned.

Well one of those games for me is Shadowbane. It is one classic MMORPG (MMO for short) that allows you to level and train skills, use powers, and fight against mobs (monsters). Shadowbane has one thing that no other game has: full PvP meaning you can fight against another player when ever you want to unless you are in a safe zone. Sadly, Shadowbane was shutdown July 1, 2009, but there is a Shadowbane emulator in progress. They have monthly updates called “State of the Banes.” The Shadowbane emulator project is called SBEmu – just go to Google and type in SBEmu and it should come up. Shadowbane was created by Wolfpack Studios owned by Ubisoft. When Shadowbane shutdown Wolfpack Studios then became Stray Bullet Games. Players can connect with one another by being in a guild. The most popular and famous guild of all time in Shadowbane in my opinion is QFT. QFT was one of Shadowbanes main guilds and they were undefeated most of the time they played. Some other popular guilds are: SotD, FTP, M2S, LK, LoC, Warrior Nation, and KGB. Shadowbane is by far one of the best games I’ve played.

So, as part of my continuing efforts to meet new persons and increase my socialization in Louisville – I’ve come up with an idea and am looking for feedback:

I would go out on 30 dates in 30 days – and blog about each of the dates with photos, where we went, how it went, etc.

Some pros / cons to this obviously. Pros would be I think it would create an interesting perspective for future reference, and it could open up opportunities to meet new people and have some fun. Cons would be, particularly if the date went badly – would it potentially up either the person I went out with, or me to overtly harsh criticism and potentially end up with hurt feelings.

Tough call. On one hand, I think it could be a heck of a lot of fun. On the other, it could be a really embarrassing / awkward situation.

So, I’m looking for everyone’s opinion (friends, family, strangers, etc) – is this a good idea?

Thanks for the input!
I love my iPhone, I have not had any problems with it and I think that it is the best phone in the world! Suprisingly, the iPhone 4 has a front camera. And you can call from a video which Apple calls “Facetime”. I have not had any problems with my iPhone yet which is great! I think Apple has done a great job designing and building this phone. It can also record video which is a great advantage. The sound quality is ok, I’ve heard better for whats its all got, its a good sound quality. Personally, the iPhone 4 is good for business because it can hold and mute calls, allow you to talk to more than one person at the same time you are talking to another, and has apps from the App Store that are used for business related things.

For the unfamiliar, Diablo 2 is a game created by Blizzard Entertainment. Diablo 2 is a PvP and PvE player game. It has quests that you can complete, you can fight other players and fight monsters. Diablo 2 has a different setup for PvP. For instance, in order to fight against other player you have to press the letter “P” when in game and a window called the “Party Menu” will open up. Then on the side there is a little skull next to each player that is in game (max number of players in a game is 8.) You have to click that skull in order to be “hostile” against that player which means you can attack that player but he can’t attack you. But if the other player clicks the skull next to you then he can hit you and you can hit him. The quests that you have to do is based upon three brothers: Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal. Baal is the last boss you fight and is the hardest. Diablo is the second hardest to kill. Mephisto is the easiest to kill. In order to advance to the next act (there are five) you have to complete all the quests in that act you are currently in. Then you advance to Act II. Diablo 2 is not getting as many players as it had in the first couple of years it came out because Diablo 3 is coming out soon and people are getting bored of Diablo 2.

And before everyone asks: No, I didn’t get here in time for the Kentucky Derby. Its held the first weekend in May – so I’ll definitely make a point of catching it next year. (It really sounds like a fun time!)

Right now I’m getting settled in and am making good progress on figuring my way out around the town and what not – and I’m actually making some new friends along the way. We’ve already gone out a few times, and I have to say I’m really starting to like my new digs.

The downtown Louisville area has apparently been renovated and updated and is a great place to hang out on the weekends with friends. Anyway, gotta jet – will post an update once I get settled in.

Peace.
