Dream Car #1 and it was not a Ford :P
Posted in July 27th, 2010 by Lincoln Ford | Filed under Cars | Comments (0)Many people would think that with the last name of Ford, that I might be an heir of Henry Ford or something. Unfortunately, I am not though I wish I was! However, presently I do drive a Ford Escape every day to work; it is reliable and great transportation and I could not be more pleased after 194,000 miles! It is very practical for my lifestyle and needs.
I have always been a huge fan of power and speed when it comes to my cars I dream about. The way it feels when you push the accelerator pedal to the floor and the sensation of being pushed back in the seat at a force two times that of an jet airplane is exhilarating! It takes me back to my first car, a 1969 Camaro. My pop and I built it from the ground up. It was an awesome car. Everything was new on it. We built a 1970 Chevy LT-1 0.30 over to make it a 355 cubic inch. By the time we got done with it was pushing over 400 horsepower. It had black lacquer paint with black original interior. It was quit the envy of all my friends and the fastest car around and at my school. I used to race Ford Mustangs like it was my job. Every chance I got I hoped I could pull up to a stoplight and hoped the car next to me was wanting to race.
But as things go after years of ownership of this street rocket, I ended up selling it for $10,000 since I did not have any place to store it. Oddly enough, ended up using that money as a down payment on a new Ford F-150 since I needed it for my job. Good news is the fellow I sold my Camaro to said he’d sell it back to me if I wanted it back ever…it’s weighed on my mind for years and some day I plan on calling him on his offer.
Next post I’ll tell you about my Dream Car #2 stay tuned.
